Pak team for New Zealand tour likely today

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team is expected to be announced today for the tour of New Zealand as former captain Mohammad Yousuf and allrounder Sohail Tanveer are likely to be back in the squad. The series, which will be played in New Zealand from December 26 to February 5, includes two Tests, six One-day Internationals and three Twenty20 internationals. Yousuf and Sohail will be included in the team after clearing fitness test while Tanveer Ahmed, Asad Shafiq and Wahab Riaz, who displayed fine performance during the recent series against South Africa, will also be the part of the squad. Salman Butt, Mohammad Aamer and Mohammad Asif will not be selected due to spot fixing charges while leg-spinner Danish Kaneria and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal will likely to be remain ignored. Misbah-ul-Haq will be captain of the Test team while Shahid Afridi will be remained captain of the ODI and T20 squad. |
